The 9th Annual Africa Day Business Forum and Celebration Dinner
October 27th, 2007

This year's Annual Africa Day Business Forum and Celebration Dinner was a great success. The Chamber hosted over two hundred attendees, including numerous businesses, over fourteen NGOs, and three major educational institutions. We were honored to have Ambassador Ombeni Sefue of Tanzania, Ambassador Kwame Bawauah-Edusei of Ghana and Ambassador Welile Nhlapo of South Africa among our distinguished speakers.

Some of the highlights of this year's forum were:
- An informative presentation by the Chairman of Microsoft to Africa, Dr. Cheick Diarra on
the growing Information Technology and Telecommunications Industries of Africa
- A dynamic panel discussion featuring the Ambassadors and Speakers moderated by
Mark Trahant of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer
- Congressman McDermott's Keynote Address on U.S.-Africa trade relations

A delegation from the Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce travelled from Ethiopia to participate and the Chamber is looking forward to working more closely with the Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce in the future. It was an exciting and productive day, dedicated to developing Business Partnerships for Sustainable Economic Growth.

Please see the African Day Business Forum page for more details!

Please join us next year at the 10th Annual Africa Day Business Forum,
a celebration of a decade of promoting trade between the Pacific Northwest and Africa,
this will not be an event to miss!
